1973 Broadspeed Capri. £POA

What a beast this thing is and look at those arches! It defines the term “hairy-chested”. If I had the money this would go in my garage straight away. Built originally to compete in European Touring car racing. This car was built by Broadspeed in 1973 for Ford Motor Co. Ltd. to Ford Cologne specification for Claude Borgourne to drive in the Kent-Castrol Belgium Touring Championships which it won convincingly, powered then by a 3 litre Westlake V6 engine. It was returned to England after the sister car of Dave Matthews was totally destroyed at the 1973 Silverstone Grand Prix Meeting. It was driven by Andy Rouse at the Tourist Trophy Meeting and then sold to Bo Emanuelson who won the Swedish Championship in 1974. In 1975 it was returned to Ford Cologne and rebuilt to the latest specification including Ford-Cosworth 24 valve V6 engine developing 460 HP at 8,750 RPM. Bo Emanuelson won many races in Sweden and Europe being faster than Jochen Mass at the Nurburgring. The car has been completely rebuilt by JD Classics and is race ready having been raced by ourselves the last 2 years. Comes with spares including spare engine which is currently being rebuilt for next season. A very rare opportunity to purchase a Works Ford Competition Cologne Capri.

1982 Capri 3.0s with Lexus V8. £5k

The advert states this is 95% complete, certainly the body looks really tidy and is lovely old skool colour. You see plenty of these V8 conversions where old Rover V8s have been used and more expensive ones with Hemis,…..but this looks like a good compromise. The cheaper Lexus V8 has been used but it should be reliable and will give you all the power you should need with 300bhp. Link

Hello and welcome to the sale of my ford capri mk3 fitted with a 4.3l vvt lexus v8 engine producing 300bhp.
The car is 95% finished, she has had a fortune spent on her including; being taken down to a body shell and all rotten panels where either cut out or replaced with new ones. A proffesional respray in signal orange was carried out and the engine conversion was carried out by custom conversions of doncaster.

1997 Bentley Turbo R. £14k

Unbelievably you can get one of these old beasts now from £5k! I’m sure at this price level that they will need some fettling and a bit of money spending (especially on fuel…) but that is amazing value, shirley.  This is an entirely different prospect, low miles at under 80k, mint body and great interior. Here we have a beautiful Bentley Turbo R LWB in Stunning Silver with Diamond Blue Silver/Magnolia Hide with blue piping, carpets and top roll. 

Registered March 1997, MOT February 2015, Taxed to end of May 2014. The car has covered 74850 miles from new and has been chauffeur driven for the past two years, being mainly used as a wedding car. 

The car comes with full service history and was fitted with new discs and pads for the previous MOT at 73556 miles. This is one of the last cars in this model line from Bentley prior to the Arnage being built in the Crewe factory at the start of 1978.

The car drives beautifully and has been stored in a heated garage when not in use, as so with the previous owner.

1978 Custom Nitrous V12 XJ. £22k

Wow, now I am not usually a fan of this sort of custom but this has been done to a very high standard and looks…..brilliantly sinister.  Not sure I would have the front to drive it and not sure I would part with £22k for it but no doubt it has cost more than this to achieve this sort of finish.  Very cool. The best allround value for money car you can buy used? These things have 370bhp and will get to 60mph in under 5.5s, they look very cool, can seat four in comfort, and shouldn’t cost too much to run if you find a good one….this looks like a decent candidate.  Linky

I love these cars as there’s nothing for the money which will give the same luxury, elegance, power and handling combination. Almost as quick as a V8 BMW M5 (quicker actually for everyday driving) and will show a standard Impreza Turbo a clean pair of heels on a straight road. Effortless to drive and waft around in everyday. Even the mpg isn’t bad – 20-22 everyday; 27-30 on a run. Parts are inexpensive also – eg front discs and pads £90; full twin stainless exhaust only £350. And they’re going up in value as they become collectable. Note that these are a different beast to the earlier 322bhp XJR6 – the performance is is another league and if you’ve never driven one, it will blow you away!

Most desirable colour – anthractite black metallic with ivory leather and biscuit trim. 99k with FSH. Just MOTd and 4 months tax. Jaguar handbooks/leather wallet etc included. VOSA MOT history to warrant the mileage. HPI-clear, warranted.

Great bodywork, largely rust-free and looks superb.

The interior is lovely and clean and tidy, very bright; a lovely place to sit even if you’re not actually going anywhere!

Mechanically I can’t fault it – it pulls really well in all gears, stops straight and cleanly. Just had a pair of f anti-roll bar bushes so nice quiet suspension, which is rare! XJR fans will know how strong these cars are, unlike the XJ8. This example has drilled vented disc brakes with ‘Brembo’ logo’d covers. It also recently has had new tyres all-round. I’ve just done a 300-mile run in it and it was effortless – I could easily have turned round and driven back. Twice!

These cars are amazingly quick when you need it with superb handling and body control, yet a pleasure to just waft too. A car which you can take the family out in or do the shopping or go on holiday, but which will match a BMW M5 V8 in power. Classic, timeless looks with modern reliability and cheap parts (eg a full stainless exhaust’s only c£250; f discs and pads c£90 delivered!). It’ll even double as a wedding car!

This car looks good in Anthractie Black Metallic with ivory leather and biscuit carpets. Admired and commented on by all the neighbours! The XJR is a model which always looks well, classic lines with time-less appeal.
